Centralized Science Laboratory
Many instruments and equipment are needed across different research fields, and students and research scholars rely on sample-test results for their theses and research papers. Instead of buying these instruments for every department, the University administration set up a Centralized Science Laboratory where instruments, devices and equipment for common use are housed, so that University students and research scholars can have their research samples tested in one place. In 2005, the laboratory received most of its equipment and began its testing service for research scholars.

Objectives
- 01Facilitate research students and researchers by providing sample-testing services.
- 02Provide test results within the stipulated time.
- 03Purchase new equipment to keep research at the University of Karachi up to international standards.
- 04Organize workshops for students and teachers on the devices and instruments used in research.
- 05Enhance the efficiency of research facilities and equipment, and improve the performance of lab activities.
