Programs
Degree Programs Available
- BA/LLB (Hons) - (5) Five years
- LLM (Equivalent to M.Phil.) - 2 years
The BA-LL.B. (Hons) program is a qualifying law degree accredited by both the Pakistan Bar Council and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), in line with the Supreme Court’s directives from the Order of March 6, 2018, and the Judgment of August 31, 2018, in CP 134/2012.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Successful completion of Intermediate/A-Level or an equivalent qualification.
- Clearance of the Law Admission Test (LAT) with a minimum of 50% marks.
Law Admission Test (LAT) for BA-LLB Admission
The Higher Education Commission (HEC)mandates that all applicants for the five-year BA-LLB (Hons) program take the Law Admission Test (LAT).
- Prospective students seeking admission to the BA-LLB program at the School of Law must register for the LAT online at https://etc.hec.gov.pk/.

The LLM admissions are announced by the University of Karachi through its website and advertisements in newspapers. All relevant and updated information is given in the prospectus published at the time of new admissions.
