The Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor is the principal executive and academic officer of the University of Karachi, chairing the Syndicate and the Academic Council and providing overall leadership across the University's nine faculties, research institutes and administrative offices — including the Directorate of Distance Education, which extends the University's Graduate and Master level programs to private students through technology-assisted, online distance learning.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail oversees academic policy, faculty affairs and institutional planning in coordination with the Registrar's Office, and represents the University at the statutory and national level.
