Director: Dr. Syed Ehteshamul-Haque

Late Professor Dr. Afzal Hussain Qadri Former Dean Faculty of Science and Professor Emeritus established this centre in 1966 for developing higher research in biological sciences. The biological research centre was established as a separate unit for a number of disciplines in biological sciences. Purpose of this research centre was to provide space and facilities to the research workers engaged in various fields of biological sciences.

Main objectives of M. A. H. Q. Biological Research Centre are to develop higher collaborative research in all disciplines of biological sciences including Biochemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Physiology and Zoology. Multidisciplinary character of this center is one of its great assets facilitating the integration of different research approaches at a time. When it has become clear that, given their complexity, biological process can only be understood through such distinct complementary approaches. There are extensive laboratory space where experts from diverse disciplines in biological sciences are working side by side using innovative technologies to address important issues in various fields of biological sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, plant sciences, microbiology, plant pathology, physiology and animal sciences.
