Objective
The objectives of CMG can be summarized as follows:

To provide facility for advanced research in Microbial Genetics,Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering at the University of Karachi.

To develop indigenous resources for Research and Development in Molecular Genetics.

To train young scientists and research students with advanced techniques in Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Microorganism.

To train academicians, scientists and corporate technical personnel from other institutions through workshops and seminars.

To facilitate scientific liasion between international renowned institutions and the University of Karachi.

To conduct scientific meetings to facilitate exchange of ideas between scientists and transfer of technology.
