At
present the Center is actively engaged in following wide range of
research programs.
- Study
of the ecology and geochemical processes of mangroves
- Study
of the population dynamics, management and assessment of marine
fish stock.
- Culture
of fish and their study on growth on different artificial diets.
- Taxonomy
and biology of invertebrates.
- Culture
of shrimps, Crabs and Oysters.
- Culture
of phytoplankton's and extraction of their biology active compounds
- Study
of taxonomy, distribution biogeny and biochemistry of marine.
- Identification,
distribution distribution and biology of commercially important
crustaceans and mollusks their management and bio-monitoring.
In
addition to above mentioned research programs the Center also
undertake programs related to coastal communities such as
environmental awareness, coastal management and effective
utilization of marine resources and their management. these
issues are also highlighted through seminars and symposiums. |
