Seminar on Cyber Crimes & Associated Laws - 13/11/08

A seminar on "Cyber Crime & Associated Laws" took place at UBIT seminar hall on Thursday. It was organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. S. M. Aqil Burney, Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Director UBIT. The keynote speaker was Mr. Khawaja Mohammad Ali CISA, Regional Coordinator (South), National Response Center for Cyber Crimes (NR3C), FIA.

Mr. Ali during his presentation highlighted the threats posted by cyber crime and the challenge it poses to the security of Information Systems. He also briefed about the existing framework of cyber laws in the country.

Dr. Aqil Burney, in his opening addressed, emphasized on the importance of effective cyber laws. He was also of the view that more awareness programs about cyber crimes should be arranged.
