UoK joins the elite club of "Top 250 World Universities"
The University of Karachi has joined the elite club of 'Top 250 Universities of the World'. The ranking was carried out world’s most prominent ranking agency Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds (THE–QS), UK. In the subject of Natural Sciences UoK was placed at 223.
Overall among over 30,000 universities around the world, UoK was placed in Top 600 for the year 2009 .
The QS World University Rankings™ were conceived to present a multi-faceted view of the relative strengths of the world's leading universities. The research yields results on 600 "in the round" and 300 in each of five broad faculty areas. The overall rankings are compiled based in six distinct indicators:
