UoK makes into the list of "Top World Universities"
The University of Karachi has made into the list of ‘Top World Universities’. The ranking was carried out world’s most prominent ranking agency Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds (THE–QS), UK. Out of over 30,000 universities around the world, UoK was placed as 546 (in 2008).
The THE - QS World University Rankings were conceived to present a multi-faceted view of the relative strengths of the world's leading universities. The research yields results on 600 "in the round" and 300 in each of five broad faculty areas. The overall rankings are compiled based in six distinct indicators:
