The
International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi
University (KU) is going to organize a one-day Video Conferencing Workshop-cum-Training
Course on Saturday (November 3, 2007) at Latif Ebrahim Jamal (LEJ) National
Science Information Centre, KU.
As per communication issued by the ICCBS on Thursday, the objective of
the workshop is to provide maximum knowledge to various Pakistani universities
about the video conferencing facility. The participants of the workshop
are the IT professionals from various universities all over the country.
The inaugural ceremony of the workshop will be held on Saturday at 9am
at the LEJ centre, in which Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, Chairman Higher Education
Commission will address the ceremony through video conferencing facility
from Islamabad, while Vice Chancellor Karachi University Prof Dr Pirzada
Qasim Raza Siddiqui and Prof Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Acting Director
of the ICCBS, will also speak at the occasion. However, several experts
will deliver their lectures regarding the issue.

KU
inducts 7 candidates in PhD programme
The
International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University
of Karachi has admitted 7 new candidates to its MPhil / PhD programme
at Dr Panjwani Centre for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD),
KU.
As per announcement made by the ICCBS on Thursday, as many as 7 candidates
have been given admissions to the field of molecular medicine. These
candidates have been inducted out of 29 candidates through written test
and interviews.
The names of the successful candidates are as: Dr Ali Kashan Malick,
M Ali Rasheed, Nadia Saeed Khan, Sarwat Afridi, Hina Ishtiaque, S Roohina
Ali and Dr Ayesha Wahaj.
