It gives me pleasure in announcing that we are launching Diploma/Certificate programs in the Evening this year at the Department of Psychology.

This program would not have been possible without the motivation, guidance and encouragement of our Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Dr.Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui. His determination, innovative ideas and unfailing patience have always been a source of inspiration for all of us at the Department. He took personal interest in the development of this program and guided us in every possible way.

We are indebted to Prof.Dr.Shamsuddin, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, for helping us prepare the program in the shortest possible. Many fruitful suggestions and criticisms have been given us by Professor Dr. Shamsuddin throughout the period in which this program has been developed. His support and guidance cannot be over emphasized.

Our gratitude is also due to Prof. Dr. Abuzar Wajidi, Director, Evening Program, for his untiring efforts in bringing this program in its final shape. Prof.Wajidi was with us right from the beginning till the advertisement was going to the press.

It would be unfair if we do not acknowledge the efforts of Prof. Saleem Memon. Professor Memon helped us in developing our program by enlightening us with his insight into the policies of the University in connection with curriculum development.

I cannot over emphasize the contributions of my colleagues at the Department in shaping this program. I am deeply indebted to Prof.Dr.Anjum Ara Jehangir for her care and concerns through and through.

I am also grateful to Mrs.Rubina Feroz who extended her help in reviewing the manuscript.

I am also thankful to Mr.Amir for typing the manuscript with the most scrupulous care and bringing it in this shape.
