a) Attendance
Attendance in lectures, tutorials etc in each course is necessary and no student shall be eligible to appear at the examination unless he has attended 75% (of the class lectures/tutorials) in each course in each session. Shortage in attendance may be condoned by 5% by the Chairman of the department for bonafide reasons. The Vice Chancellor may condone a further shortage of 10% in cases of special hardships, but no student whose attendance falls below 60% shall be sent up for any University examination. Attendance will be counted from the date classes begin and NOT from date of admission of a student.
b) Admissions
Admissions are to be granted purely on merit and in accordance with the existing University rules and criteria. Admission policy schedule and procedure are announced by the University administration.
c) Tuition fee
Every student shall pay his Admission fee, tuition fees and other charges according to the schedule announced by the University from time to time.
d) Enrolment
For every student seeking admission, it is a prerequisite to get himself enrolled with University of Karachi on payment of necessary fees.
e) Conduct and maintenance of Discipline
Since good behavior and proper conduct of the student is essential in maintaining pleasant/healthy/ideal academic atmosphere, it is hoped that the students will prove themselves worthy of it. According to the University code, the following, among others, shall constitute as act of indiscipline:
i)
use of indecent or filthy language.
ii) use of immodest dress
iii) use of immodest remarks or gestures.
iv) Shouting, abusing, quarreling, fighting and other disorderly behavior.
v) carrying, using or threatening to use firearms and deadly weapons.
vi) defiance of authority
vii) false personation or giving false information or willful suppression
of information, cheating or deceiving.
viii) Inciting or staging a walk-out, a strike or an unauthorized procession.
ix) Shouting of slogans, derogatory to the prestige of the University
or the reputation of its officers or lecturers.
x) Being found under the effect of intoxication.
xi) Immorality.
xii) Action defamatory or derogatory to Islam and Pakistan.
xiii) Indulging in activities prejudicial and detrimental to good order
on the campus.
xiv) Unauthorized use of or damaging University's moveable and immoveable
property.
