Geography graduates with Master's degree generally find useful employment in some major fields, i.e. education, administration, and private organizations. Their specialty and expertise is utilized by development authorities and agencies throughout the country. In particular government departments i.e. the Survey of Pakistan, Statistical Bureau, Population Census, SUPARCO, Archeological Department, Planning Commission, and provincial departments of planning and development have employed geographers for their special skills. Private firms, and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) also utilize the expertise of geographers.

Salary: Government jobs range from BPS 14 to PBS 17. In the private sector the pay varies from organization to organization. The types of job you can look for are:

Teaching:

At all levels i.e. school, college, universities, both in government and private such training academies of armed forces.

Research Assistant/Coordinators:

Land surveyor: In SOP, KDA, LDA, CDA and private surveying organizations

Transport Planners: In TEB (Traffic Engineering Bureau) Karachi Planners for Katchi abadies, KMC (Karachi Metropolitan Corporation) Sindh Katchi Abadies authority

Cartographer: In survey of Pakistan, in Geological survey of Pakistan, in Civil Aviation, Meteorological department, SUPARCO, in Oil Companies, Geodetic Surveying
