l. WORLD FOOD DAY
The Department celebrates World Food Day every year on 16th October, to provide a forum for Food Industrialists, Educationists, Food Scientists, Government Officials and Consumers to discuss their problems mutually.
2. lNTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The Department organizes an International Conference every alternate year where global participation of scientists provide an opportunity to exchange views about research achievements in the field of Food Science. Over twenty countries and 300 scientists participate. The next conference is due on 28th January, 1995.
3. SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
Seminars on different topics as food habits and health, food poisoning, food born diseases etc. are arranged to create awareness about the importance of the subject.
4. SHORT COURSES
The Department also offers special programmes of short courses designed to meet the needs of the Pakistani Food Industries and Consumers on different topics such as Food Safety, Food Hygiene, Quality Assurance, Quality Control etc.
