Dr. Rizwana Muneer

Dr. Rizwana joined the department in 1991. Before joining University of Karachi, she served Jinnah Postgraduate College in different capacities such as Lecturer, Assistant Prof & Chairperson. She earned M.A. (Education) first class 1st position from University of Karachi. She also got B.Ed. degree from the University of Karachi. She taught variety of subjects including Educational Psychology, Research & Statistics, Comparative Education, Modern Development of Education. She managed two workshops in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University & Jamia Millia Govt. College of Education Malir, Karachi. She conducted international seminar on “Modern Developments in Education”. 
She is associated with two NGOs namely “Press & Peace” and “Nia Ufaq”. She is member of many academic & literary forums including “PARE”. More then 1000 students have completed their master degree theses under her supervision. She has completed two projects with Research Facility Center. Her 7 research articles have been published in different research journals. She is member of Central Advisory committee, departmental student advisor & has served as in-charge Dept. of Education from April 2010 to March 2011.
She has been member Board of Studies & Board of Faculty.  Her name is included in Advisory Board of research journal of Jamia Milia Govt. College of Education. 
She initiated M.A Education & B.Ed. Program in Evening. She is currently serving as in-charge evening program. P.hD. degree was awarded to her on Jan 5, 2011. Her area of research is motivational factors influencing of efficiency of secondary school teachers.

Ms. Safia Urooj

Ms. Safia Urooj has completed her Master in Special Education with First class 1st Position in 1991 and Master in Education with First class First Position in 1994 from University of Karachi and presently submitted Ph.D dissertation which is under process. She joined the Department of Education, University of Karachi as a lecturer in 2001. she is a member of Board of Faculty, Board of Studies, University of Karachi, Board of Studies of Jinnah University for Women and Board of Intermediate, Karachi. Her area of interest is Educational Psychology, Psychological Testing, Research and Administration. Her 8 research papers has been published. She has done a research project “Awareness Among Parents of Rural Community about the Education of their daughters: Problems and Prospects; a study conducted in Murad Memon Goth – Union Council – GADAP Town – Karachi, 2007” and an other project “Problems of Children’s Education among People of Karachi Abadies (Slums): a study conducted in Karachi Abadies of Orange Town, Karachi” is under process. Also presented two research papers on Globalization and Computer Education. She attended several International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and Training Courses. She worked as a visiting faculty at Hamdard Institute of Education and Social Sciences (HIESS).

Mrs. Azizunisa

Ms. Aziz-un-Nisa did her Master in Education from University of Karachi in 1994-95 will first class IInd Position and after master she completed her B.Ed from Govt College of education F.B.Area in 1999. She joined the department of Education as a lecturer in 2001 and enrolled in M.Phl in 2007, her thesis is submitted for the award of degree. She is also interested in writing research papers. Her two papers have already been published. She attended many workshops and seminars on various topics of education. She also completed one research project on “Knowledge attitude & practice of family planning of rural mothers between (15-25) age: A study conducted in Safoora Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal town, Karachi. Her research field is guidance and counseling, Measurement & Evaluation in Education. Being a experienced teacher of guidance and counseling, she is always available to guide students in their educational problems. As a compulsory part of course of studies she has supervised about 100 research thesis at master level till today.

Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed

Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed joined the Department of Education, University of Karachi in October 2006. He earned his Master degrees in English Literature from Bahauddin Zakria University Multan in 1999. He did B.Ed. from Jamia Millia Govt. College of Education in 2002. Afterwards he got his M.Ed (Educational Planning and Management) from Govt. College of Education, F.B. Area Karachi. 
He participated actively in Faculty Development Initiatives, organized by the University of Karachi in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, currently he is member Board of Faculty. He represented University of Karachi in Curriculum Planning and Development workshop for B.Ed (4 years degree), organized by Pre-STEP.
Mr. Imtiaz has also worked with International Centre for Religious Diplomacy (ICRD) in designing and Implementation of “Madarassa Teacher Training Program” offered by the University of Karachi in collaboration with ICRD, USA. He is enrolled as Research Scholar in MS leading to Ph.D program at University of Karachi. His area of specialization is Educational Planning and Management. His area of interest in research is “Quality Assurance in Higher Education”.
Currently, he is engaged in Research Project offered by Pre-STEP focusing on the analysis and development of teaching Practice Manual.

(Completing thesis)

Mr. Muhammad Asim has joined the University of Karachi in the capacity of Lecturer in November 2006. At present, he is teaching graduate and under graduate classes in Department of Education, University of Karachi. He is teaching the courses “Elements of Education” and “Foundation of Education” to undergraduate students, and “Research Methodology and Statistics” to the graduate students. As a Research Teacher, he has introduced the “Qualitative Research Methodologies” in Department of Education in 2007 among the theses students. His article entitle, “The Rationale of Teaching and Learning Mathematics” has published in international newsletter of Mathematics Association of Pakistan. As a research scholar in M.S. program, he is writing his thesis on the reasons of learning difficulties among graduate students-teacher. He is also keen to research on “The impact of Globalization on Curriculum in Higher Education”
Mr. Muhammad Asim is also a member of ‘Board of Studies’ in Department of Education from 2008. He has also discharged his duties as member of paper review and moderation committee at departmental level.

Ph.D degree was awarded in 1999 from Hamdard University. M.Phil was done from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad in 1990. B.Ed & M.Ed degree were obtained from University of Karachi in 1988 & 1992. enrolled as regular student of B.Sc(H) Botany in June 1982 & completed M.Sc in 1987.
Working as research supervisor since 2003 his three students of Ph.D have been awarded degrees from university of Karachi and Hamdard University. He is associated with this Department since last year and supervising departmental research work.

 

Dr.Asia Khatoon 
Dr. Asia Khatoon is associated with this department since Jan,2006. She was awarded Ph.D in 2008 from Karachi University. She did her B.Ed from Govt.College of Education Her field of interest is teacher education and research. Her research paper on education was publish in international journal. She presented papers and attended many seminars and workshops related to her field.

Name:         Maroof bin Rauf
Mr. Maroof bin Rauf has joined the department as a full-time Cooperative Lecturer from 1st Jan 2006. He did his M.A. from the same department in 2003 & now his M.Phil. is convert in to Ph.D. on the topic of “The role of Professional Universities in the development of Individual & Society.” He is teaching different courses to the graduates & Masters Students, like Advanced Educational Psychology, Guidance & Counseling, Measurement & Evaluation & supervising the researches of B.S / M.A. level.
His areas of interests are class room activities, psychology of education & guidance & counseling. He designed & conducted various workshops & projects for student & teachers at national & international level. He was connected with Pre-Step for various research projects.
