According to new education policy of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Four Years BS (Bachelor of Studies) Program is introduced beginning January 2007 Session. This program will be applicable for the students admitted to Four Years BS Program from January 2007 Session.

The BBA (Honors) and MBA programs presently offered will continue till new Four Years BS Program reaches it final stage. MBA (Direct) admission for two years studies will continue till Four Years BS Program completes it period.

Four Years BS Program consists of Eight Semesters. In all there are 45 courses of study spread over four years. Total Credit Points in BS Program will be 45*3=135 plus 3 credit hours of Project Research Report and Supervised Internship Program which will be of 8 weeks.

On successful completion of four years BS studies the student will be entitled to receive BS Degree which is considered equivalent to Masters degree. After receiving this four years BS degree the student can apply for any post of 17 Grade.

In case a student does not want to continue for full four years degree program he/she has the option to quit studies after 2 years and will get a BS (Pass) degree. Further he/she has another option of receiving BS (Honors) degree after successful completion of 3 years studies.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO BS (BACHELOR OF STUDIES) –  4 YEARS PROGRAM

Admissions shall be open to those who have passed Higher Secondary (Intermediate) Examination or Equivalent Examination in at least second division marks (50 per cent) from recognized Board.

However, students who are already graduates, or are presently enrolled for any graduation program in any department, are NOT eligible for admission to BS program as enumerated under Admission Criteria.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF FORM

1. Powder Photocopy of National Identity Card (B-Form in case the applicant is under 18 years of age) attested.
2. Powder Photocopies of marks sheets of Higher Secondary (Intermediate) Examination (both years), and Matriculation Certificate attested.
3. Four recent passport size photographs.
4. Students, who have passed their requisite examinations from Private and Foreign Universities and Foreign Boards ("A" and "O" level)  are required to obtain equivalence certificate from Karachi University.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APPLICANTS OF BS PROGRAM

Those who are seeking admission on the basis of O/A level or any other qualification at par with HSC are required to submit a copy of equivalence certificate issued by the University of Karachi or Intermediate Board Chairmen’s Committee (IBCC) together with the application form otherwise their application will not be entertained.

Applicants for BS Program who wish to avail of marks of Hifz-e-Quran should submit a photocopy of their Hifz-e-Quran certificate alongwith their form. They are reminded that 20 marks will be added to their total on the basis of Hifz-e-Quran (candidate’s grade or division is not changed on the basis of these marks).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES WHOSE NAME APPEARS IN THE ADMISSION MERIT LIST

Candidates whose names appear in the admission list will have to complete all formalities for admission within the stipulated time, otherwise their admission will lapse. The following documents are to be submitted for completion of admission:

1. The original marks sheets of the last examination (Non returnable).
2. Character certificate from the head of the institution last attended. For external candidates a character certificate from any gazetted officer (non returnable).
3. The National Identity Card of the Candidate, or in case candidate is below 18 years father’s/mother’s identity card with ‘B’ Form and their photocopies (the original will be returned after verification).
4. The original certificate of Matric/H.S.C/ A / O Level, and an attested copy of the same. (The original documents will be returned).
5. 10 recent passport size photographs.
6. Affidavit by Oath Commissioner on Judicial paper (sample is given in this booklet).
7. Original & Photocopy of Certificate of Hifz-e-Quran (only for Honors). The original will be returned after verification.
8. Payment of prescribed fee.

 

After completion of the above formalities, the candidate will have to fill in an enrolment form. Under the University rules his/her admission will not be deemed complete until he/she receives his/her enrolment card.
