Courses M.Sc. Applied Physics with specialization in ELECTRONICS is a two years course spread over four semesters. Each semester comprises five courses each of 3 credit hours. This gives 15 credit hours per semester and a total of 60 credit hours for the whole course. In addition to theory classes all the students spend a total of 9 hours per week each semester in the Electronics and Communications Laboratory. Additionally the student is required to put in a minimum of three hours per week in the Computer and Interfacing laboratory. FIRST SEMESTER 1. Appl. Phys. 551. Statistical & Quantum Mechanics. SECOND SEMESTER 1. Appl. Phys. 552. Digital Electronics. THIRD SEMESTER 1. Appl. Phys. 65 1. Lasers & Applied Optics. Optional Subjects 6. Appl. Phys. 66 1. Remote Sensing. FOURTH SEMESTER 1. Appl. Phys. 652. Optoelectronics. Optional Subjects 6. Appl. Phys. 662. Image processing. NOTE 1. In the third and fourth semesters Experimental Electronics III and IV are compulsory subjects. 2. Any other combination of 4 courses per semester may also be offered in the third and fourth semester provided the number of students offering a combination is at least five. 3. An. M.Sc. thesis of 6 credit hours may also be offered in lieu of any two courses, (one each in third and fourth semesters). The courses to be dropped will be determined by the departmental committee. 4. A -') credit hours project, subject to its availability, can also be offered in the fourth semester in lieu of any one of the course to be determined by the departmental committee. A student offering an M.Sc. thesis will not be permitted to work on a project. 4. At least 75% attendance is required in each subject
to qualify to appear in the terminal examination in that subject.
